65 77 710 Removing And Installing (Replacing) Left A-Pillar Sensor

NOTE: Follow instructions for handling optical fibers. Refer to 61 00 ... NOTES ON HANDLING OPTICAL FIBERS .

Necessary Preliminary Tasks:

Disconnect battery negative lead and cover. Refer to 12 00 ... INSTRUCTIONS FOR DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING BATTERY .
Remove footwell side trim panel on A-pillar. Refer to 51 43 070 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING side trim panel, footwell, on A-pillar, left and/or 51 43 075 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING SIDE TRIM PANEL, FOOTWELL, ON A-PILLAR, RIGHT .
Place carpet slightly to one side.

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Unscrew bolt (2).

Unscrew nuts (3).

Installation:

Tightening torque, refer to 65 77 4AZ in AUDIO, NAVIGATION AND ANTI-THEFT - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Make sure sensor is mounted without play.

Remove A-pillar sensor (4).

Replacement:

Carry out coding/programming. Refer to DIAGNOSIS PROGRAMMING/CODING .

Observe following IDC specifications:

Programming.
Coding.
Car & Key Memory.
CD "CIP".
