51 24 660 Correcting Fluid Level In Hydraulic Unit (From 02/2003) For Rear Lid Actuation (Electrohydraulic-Fully Automatic)

IMPORTANT: Do not under any circumstance remove fluid tank from hydraulic unit. Use fluid from "Small parts for hydraulic unit" set.

Follow notes and instructions for automatic rear lid actuation (electrohydraulic-fully automatic). Refer to 51 24... NOTES AND INSTRUCTIONS ON AUTOMATIC REAR LID ACTUATION (FROM 02/2003) (ELECTROHYDRAULIC-FULLY AUTOMATIC) 

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

NOTE: Hoses on hydraulic unit must not be detached.

Have a cleaning cloth and an oil drip tray ready to catch emerging fluid.

Move hydraulic unit (1) into vertical position.

Release screw (2).

Tightening torque, refer to 51 24 2AZ in BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Top up hydraulic fluid through opening.

Installation: 

Replace sealing ring.

Check fluid level. Refer to 51 24... NOTES AND INSTRUCTIONS ON AUTOMATIC REAR LID ACTUATION (FROM 02/2003) (ELECTROHYDRAULIC-FULLY AUTOMATIC)

When Ideal Filling Is Achieved: 

Install hydraulic unit.

Close rear lid (motor-driven) twice and open again, this bleeds the system.

When rear lid is fully opened (cylinder retracted), fluid level (2) must be in area (A) of marking (3).
