41 14 502 Replacing Rear Left Outer Wheel Arch Section (Rear Left Side Panel Removed): Notes

Read contents of BODY, GENERAL .

Spot-weld bonding is used on this vehicle. Observe specific PROCEDURE .

Remove or cover those vehicle components in the repair area which are susceptible to heat or dust.

Use only approved SPOT-WELDING APPARATUS  for repairs!

Following new body parts are required:

• (1) Reinforcement, C-pillar, bottom
• (2) Wheel arch, rear, outer half
• (3) Shaped parts, wheel arch (not pictured)

Mark severance cuts in accordance with specified measurements and cut.

Measurement a = 70 mm below 15 mm dia. bore

Measurement b = 130 mm

Installation: 

Weld in reinforcement plate(s)  at severance cuts.

Open weld joints in areas (1).

Remove cavity acoustic baffles in area (3).

Installation:

Apply window glass adhesive to CAVITY ACOUSTIC BAFFLE  (2).

Make cavity acoustic baffle (3) with CAVITY FOAM .

Mark severance cut (1) in accordance with measurement and cut.

Dimension a = 20 mm

Open weld joints in area (2).

Remove CAVITY ACOUSTIC BAFFLE .

Mark severance cut in accordance with specified measurement and cut.

Measurement = 20 mm distance from radius

Cut wheel arch along line (1).

Open weld joints in area (2).

Installation: 

Weld new part in area (3) overlapping with wheel arch.
