52 24 408 Replacing backrest cover (basic) for left or right rear seat

Special Tools Required:

52 0 050

Necessary Preliminary Tasks:

Remove backrest for rear seat. Refer to 52 24 010 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING BACKREST FOR REAR SEAT (BASIC) .
Remove center armrest. Refer to52 24 030 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COMPLETE ARMREST (BASIC) FOR REAR SEAT BACKREST .
Remove head restraint guides. Refer to 52 24 ... REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING ALL GUIDE SLEEVES FOR REAR HEAD RESTRAINTS .

Release clips (1).

Feed out cover in area (2).

Remove frame (3).

Detaching cover and padding:

If necessary, mark retainer positions.
Release all retainers in marked area.
Remove cover from padding.
Remove remaining retainers from cover and padding.

Installation:

Insert new retainers with special tool 52 0 050. In so doing, enclose wire in padding and trim wire of cover.

Replacing cover:

Pull all trim wires out of seat cover.
If necessary, cut pockets in new cover for trim wires
Push trim wires into pockets.
