52 17 030 Removing And Installing/Replacing Backrest Frame On Left Or Right Front Seat (Comfort)

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove front seat . See 52 14 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT (NORMAL/ELECTRIC) .
- Remove both rear panels on front seat backrest. See 52 14 198 REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING REAR PANEL ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT BACKREST (NORMAL / ELECTRIC) .
- Remove inner cover on front seat. See 52 14 041 REMOVING AND INSTALLING INNER COVER ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT (NORMAL/ELECTRIC) .
- Remove backrest cover for front seat. See 52 17 405 REPLACING BACKREST COVER FOR LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT (COMFORT) .
- Remove head restraint support on front seat. See 52 17 380 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING HEAD RESTRAINT MOUNT ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT (COMFORT) .
Release all cable ties on wiring harness (1).
Disconnect all marked plug connections.
Feed through wiring harness (1) at bottom right on backrest frame.
Unclip left and right clips (1).
Unhook seat covers (2) on left and right.
Release left and right screws (3).
Tightening torque. See SEATS - TIGHTENING TORQUES - ALPINA .
If necessary, remove lumbar cushion with drive and valve block.
Remove backrest frame.
Installation:
When replacing backrest or seat frame, break off centering hooks (1) from seat frame.
NOTE:
The new backrest frame part contains all the drives.
Before installing, check whether backrest frame has a date of manufacture after September 2004.
