52 17 405 Replacing Backrest Cover For Left Or Right Front Seat (Comfort)

Special tools required: 

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Detach plug connection (1) by twisting from backrest frame.

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Unhook backrest cover (3) in areas (1).

Detach all retainers in areas (2).

Installation: 

Bend new retainers closed with pliers 52 0 050.

Release all cable ties (1).

Disconnect all plug connections (2).

Remove backrest cover (2) complete with padding towards front.

Installation: 

Adjusting unit (1) must be secured on left and right in opening of padding.

Detach all retainers in areas (1).

Release all retainers.

Installation: 

Bend new retainers closed with pliers 52 0 050  .

Remove backrest cover (1) from padding.

Remove all remnants of clips from backrest cover (1) and padding.

Pull trim threads (1) out of backrest cover.

Installation: 

Slide trim threads (1) into new backrest cover; if necessary, cut new part.

Lever out locking strip of head restraint guide with trim panel wedge 00 9 317  .

Installation: 

Mount straight front face of head restraint guide towards front.
