41 31 014 Replacing Front And Rear Roof Outer Skin (Version With Slide/Tilt Sunroof)

Following new body parts are required:
- (1) Roof outer skin, front
- (2) Roof outer skin, rear
Open weld joints in areas (1).
Open brazed joints in areas (2).
Open laser weld seams in areas (3).
IMPORTANT:
Comply with special procedure when opening, see LASER WELD JOINTS
.
Installation:
Plug-weld new parts in areas (3). Gap between welding spots approx. 40 mm.
Installation:
Do not remove existing lid gasket in areas (1). If necessary, stick on again.
Place new components on body. Set up windscreen, glass tilt roof, roof trim strips and rear window for positioning.
Make sure there are parallel gaps between glass tilt roof and roof halves.

Apply sealing compound between roof outer skin and side frame.
