65 12 070 Removing and installing/replacing amplifier

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove luggage compartment floor trim panel. Refer to 51 47 101 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR TRIM PANEL .
• Remove flap in luggage compartment trim panel on left. Refer to 51 47 172 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FLAP IN LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM, LEFT OR RIGHT .
• Detach left cover. Refer to 51 46 050 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FINISHER FOR TOP OF REAR APRON .
• If necessary, remove transmit-receive unit. Refer to 84 11 523 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TRANSCEIVER or 84 11 620 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TRANSMIT-RECEIVE UNIT .
• If necessary, remove navigation computer with CD drive. Refer to 65 90 510 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING NAVIGATION COMPUTER WITH CD-DRIVE  .
• If necessary, remove CD changer. Refer to 65 11 070 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING CD CHANGER  .
• If necessary, remove warning triangle
• If necessary, remove storage tray for emergency wheel

Turn plug connection block (1) approx. 45° and unclip from equipment carrier (5).

Unscrew nuts (2).

Remove screws (3) and (4).

If necessary, unlock associated plug connections, disconnect and remove equipment carrier (5) in direction of arrow.

Unlock plug connections (3) and disconnect.

Release nuts (1) and screw (2).

Remove complete amplifier holder (4) and set down.

Replacement:

Release screws (1) and remove amplifier (2) from amplifier holder (3).

When replacing amplifier for Top HIFI system:

Carry out programming/coding. Refer to DIAGNOSIS PROGRAMMING/CODING .
