Function 08, Measured Value Block, Reading
- The measuring value block consists of one display group of four measured values with physical units, and two display groups of measured values without physical units.
- If the printer is on, the display is also printed out on the test log.
- Test requirements are met SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND TROUBLESHOOTING, BOSCH 5, FROM MY 96 .
- DTC memory has been checked and any malfunctions displayed have been located and rectified.
-- Connect scan tool: VAG1551 with diagnostic cable : VAG1551 /3 SCAN TOOL VAG 1551, CONNECTING AND SELECTING FUNCTIONS .
-- Select "Rapid data transfer" operating mode and insert "Brake Electronics" address word 03.

Display fields 1 to 4 indicate the wheel speed in km/h. It is calculated by the ABS Control Module (w/EDL) -J104- on the basis of the pulses received from the wheel speed sensor. If the vehicle is accelerated or moved uniformly on a dry road surface, the permissible difference between the readouts 1 to 4 is not more than ± 1 km/h (rounding error). If the differences are greater, check the wheel speed sensors and rotors.
ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM COMPONENTS, BOSCH 5
Check that the wheel speed sensors are properly connected to the correct wheel by rotating the wheels by hand. Lock the other driven wheels to prevent them also turning.
If the readouts obtained indicate malfunctions, carry out the resistance measurement ELECTRICAL CHECK , test steps 7 to 10.
