A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor -G395-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing

-- Initiate the A/C system basic setting through the Thermal Management Control Module -J1024- and open the power-activated valves through the stored routine "Extract, evacuate and fill the refrigerant circuit" using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding"  function.

-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to Refrigerant Circuit (R134a) (Refrigerant R134a Servicing, Refrigerant Circuit, Working with A/C Service Station) or Working with A/C Service Station (R1234ya) (1 of 2) or Working with A/C Service Station (R1234yf) (2 of 2) .

-- Remove the left engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the front section of the front wheel housing liner. Refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .

-- Check the allocation of the A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor -G395- -2-. This sensor is installed in the high pressure refrigerant line -A- from the A/C compressor to the valve block (risk of interchanging with other sensors identical in construction). Refer to SYSTEM OVERVIEW - REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT ON VEHICLES WITH HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM (AUDI Q7 E-TRON) .

-- Label the connector -1- and sensor -2- due to the risk of interchanging with other connectors or sensors.

-- Mark the component location of the sensor -2-.

-- Disconnect the connector -1-.

-- Check the refrigerant line and connection -4- for contamination and if necessary clean.

Vehicles with 4-cylinder Engine

-- Carefully push the coolant hose -5- from above to the side.

-- Check the allocation of the A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor -G395- -1-. This sensor is installed in the high pressure refrigerant line from the A/C compressor to the valve block (risk of interchanging with other sensors identical in construction). Refer to SYSTEM OVERVIEW - REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT ON VEHICLES WITH HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM (AUDI Q7 E-TRON) .

TIP

-- Label the connector -1- and sensor -2- due to the risk of interchanging with other connectors or sensors.

-- Disconnect the connector -2-.

-- Check the refrigerant line and connection -4- for contamination and if necessary clean.

CAUTION:

Danger or frostbite due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.

Frostbite on the skin and other parts of the body is possible.

- Wear safety gloves.

- Wear protective eyewear.

- Evacuate or drain refrigerant and open the refrigerant circuit immediately.

- If more than 10 minutes elapse after extracting or draining the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, extract or drain the refrigerant again. Pressure develops in the refrigerant circuit due to evaporation.

-- Loosen and remove the sensor -2-.

-- Seal the open connection -4- with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set: VAS6122  .
