Dual Clutch, Removing And Installing: Removing
- The transmission is secured on the Engine and Transmission Holder:VAS 6095A . Refer to SECURING ON ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HOLDER .
-- Remove the flywheel. Refer to FLYWHEEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Turn the transmission in the Engine and Gearbox Bracket:VAS 6095A so that it is vertical.
-- Remove the bolts -1 to 12-.
-- Secure the Puller for ATF-Supply:T40123B using the Adapter:T40123/2 on the input shaft from the dual clutch.
- Puller for ATF-Supply:T40123B
- Adapter: T40123/2
-- Make sure the puller is secure on the input shaft -3-.
-- Attach the Puller for ATF-Supply:T40123B to the Engine Support Bridge - Additional Hooks:10 - 222 A /2 and engage it on the Shop Crane:VAS 6100 .
-- Carefully remove the dual clutch from the transmission housing.
Risk of damaging the engaging bearing, slave cylinder and dual clutch.
- When removing, the engaging bearing and both alignment sleeves can fall out of the transmission housing.
- A damaged or dropped engaging bearing must be replaced.
- A new engaging bearing with slave cylinder is always supplied with a calibrated dual clutch.
TIP:
- The dual clutch is extensively calibrated to the engaging bearing and slave cylinder.
- Calibrating with service equipment is currently not possible.
- A damaged engaging bearing or slave cylinder must for this reason always be replaced with a new dual clutch.
There is a risk of damaging the dual clutch from mishandling.
The hub for "clutch 2" is engaged in the inner disk support and can be loosed if the clutch is handled incorrectly.
- Use the Pressure Stand:T40099 .
It can be checked if the bulb holder is engaged correctly, by measuring the height dimension. Refer to Check the clutch installation height .
-- Remove the three bolts -arrows- and remove the engaging bearing with the slave cylinder.
TIP:
- Depending on the version the three bolts -arrows- may not be present.
