Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -G62- , REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 2.9L ENGINE

Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required 

• Socket T30:T10405 

Procedure 

Depending on the model, preliminary work may be required. Refer to ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR -G62-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING - 3.0L .

• The Engine Is Cold.

-- To reduce the residual pressure in the cooling system, briefly open the coolant expansion tank cap -1- by releasing the retainer -arrow- .

-- Reinstall the cap until it engages.

-- Remove the engine cover and heat shield. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the connector -2- .

-- Place a cloth underneath to catch any escaping coolant.

-- Remove the bolt -1- , and remove the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -G62- .

TIP:

If an O-ring remains in the cylinder block, remove the O-ring with a wire.

• Replace the O-rings after removing them.

-- Insert the new engine coolant temperature sensor immediately so that as little coolant is lost as possible.

-- Install the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Fill with coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .

There may be additional procedures depending on the model. Refer to ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR -G62-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING - 3.0L .
