Cam Actuator, Removing And Installing

Depending on the model, preliminary work may be required. Refer to CAM ACTUATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Cylinder Bank 1 (Right):

-- Disconnect the connectors:

1. For Cylinder 1 Intake Cam Actuator 1 -F448-, Cylinder 2 Intake Cam Actuator 1 -F452- and Cylinder 3 Intake Cam Actuator 1 -F456-
2. For Ignition Coil 1 with Power Output Stage -N70-, Ignition Coil 2 with Power Output Stage -N127- and Ignition Coil 3 with Power Output Stage -N291-

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and free up the ground cable.

Cylinder Bank 2 (Left):

-- Disconnect the connectors:

1. For Cylinder 4 Intake Cam Actuator 1 -F460-, Cylinder 5 Intake Cam Actuator 1 -F464- and Cylinder 6 Intake Cam Actuator 1 -F468-
2. For Ignition Coil 4, 5 and 6 with Power Output Stage -N292-, -N323-, -N324- (If necessary, lift the wiring duct slightly upward)
3. For the Camshaft Position Sensor 2 -G163-

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and free up the ground cable.

Continuation for Both Sides:

-- Push the upper section of the noise insulation upward.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and then remove the cam actuator -1-.

Installing 

Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:

• Check the O-rings for damage. Refer to Fig 1.

There may be additional procedures depending on the model. Refer to CAM ACTUATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Tightening Specifications 

• Refer to OVERVIEW - VALVETRAIN 
• Ground Wires. Refer to the appropriate Wiring Diagram.
