Hood, Removing And Installing
- To complete the procedure, a second technician is required to be at the following position. Refer to HOOD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING - gas-filled strut .
CAUTION:
Risk of damaging the hood by opening when the pedestrian protection is triggered
- Only open the hood after the triggered pedestrian protection has been reset.
- Removed pedestrian protection: hinge is reset. Refer to HINGE, RESETTING .
-- Remove the spray nozzles. Refer to SPRAY NOZZLES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING and remove the wiring harness from the hood.
-- Loosen the cable guide from the hinge.
-- Remove the gas-filled strut from the hood. Refer to GAS-FILLED STRUT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING. .
-- Remove the nuts from the hinge.
-- Remove the front lid.
Install in reverse order of removal.
Adjusting:
- Adjustment dimensions. Refer to ADJUSTMENT DIMENSIONS .
-- Center the hood between the fenders.
-- Adjust the height of the hood using either the latch or the striker.
-- Adjust the hood to the fenders using the adjusting buffers. Refer to HEIGHT, ADJUSTING USING ADJUSTING BUFFER .
