Rear Final Drive, Removing And Installing, AUDI Q3: Installing
Tightening specifications
- Refer to OVERVIEW - FINAL DRIVE
Replace the bolts that were tightened with an additional turn.
-- Position the rear final drive under the vehicle supported by the block of wood and the strap.
-- Tilt the final drive using the : VAS6931 , as illustrated.
-- Lift the final drive and guide the rear bonded rubber bushing -arrows- above the subframe while observing the clearance of the other components.
-- Attach the bleeder hoses -1 and 2- to the subframe.
-- Lift the final drive into the installed position with the : VAS6931 .
-- Lay the washer -C- onto the front bonded rubber bushing.
-- Tighten the bolt -B- by hand till it touches and unscrew it again for 5 turns.
-- Lift the final drive -A- in the rear -arrow 1- and push it as far as possible to the left -arrow 2-.
-- Carefully guide the right drive axle -B- upward into the flange.
-- Move the final drive back to the installed position.
-- Install the right drive axle bolts on the final drive.
-- Lift the final drive -A- in the rear -arrow 1- and push it as far as possible to the right -arrow 2-.
-- Carefully guide the left drive axle -B- upward into the flange.
-- Move the final drive back to the installed position.
-- Install the left drive axle bolts on the final drive.
-- Attach the drive axle to the rear final drive.
-- Tighten the drive axles. Refer to OVERVIEW - DRIVE AXLE .
-- Install the pendulum support. Refer to OVERVIEW - ASSEMBLY MOUNTS .
-- Align the center bearing in the oblong holes so that neither the driveshaft nor the center bearing are under stress.
-- Tighten the bolts -arrows-.
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
-- Install the Left Rear Level Control System Sensor -G76-. Refer to Left/Right Rear Level Control System Sensor -G76- /:G77, Removing And Installing .
-- Install the exhaust system rear section. Refer to OVERVIEW - MUFFLER (2.0L 4V TFSI Engine; EA 888 Generation II, As of 01.2018), OVERVIEW - MUFFLER (2.0L 4V TFSI Engine; EA 888 Generation III, As Of 12.2017), or OVERVIEW - MUFFLER (2.0L 4V TFSI Engine; EA 888 Generation II, As of 09.2016) .
-- Install the rear stabilizer bar. Refer to Stabilizer Bar, Removing And Installing .
When replacing rear final drive, check the axle oil and all wheel drive clutch fluid and add, if necessary. Refer to GEAR OIL and ALL WHEEL DRIVE CLUTCH OIL LEVEL, CHECKING .
