Electric Drive Motor, Removing And Installing: Installing
-- Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal while observing the following:
-- Always clean the transmission housing in the area where the differential is accessed -arrow A- and the shaft seal -arrow B-.
Replace the shaft seal between the differential and transmission housing -arrow B- if it is damaged, refer to RIGHT SEAL, REPLACING
-- Fill the space between the sealing and dust lip halfway with Sealing Grease G 052 128 A1.
-- Replace the O-ring -arrow- on the input shaft.
-- Check the shaft seal for the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- for damage and replace, if necessary, refer to ELECTRO-DRIVE DRIVE MOTOR SEAL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Check the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- hub, refer to ELECTRO-DRIVE DRIVE MOTOR HUB, CHECKING .
-- Assemble the Lifting Eyebolt VAS3368 with Slide Hammer Set VW771 with adapter 40 and M8 washer -1-.
- Maximum depth: Dimension X = 8 mm
Installing A New Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141-.
A newly ordered Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- is located in a special transportable pallet.
Risk of damaging the damper module in the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- !
If the Lifting Eyebolt VAS3368 with Slide Hammer Set VW771 and adapter 40 is screwed in deeper than 8 mm, the damper module in the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- will be damaged.
If the damper module in the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- is damaged, than the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- must be replaced.
-- Attach the Lifting Eyebolt VAS3368 with the Slide Hammer Set VW771 with adapter 40 and M8 washer -1- above in the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141-.
-- Lift the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- with the Shop Crane VAS6100 off of the transportable pallet.
-- Remove the stopping boot -3- and the torsion damper support -2- on the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- -1-.
-- Continue installing as for the "Previously Removed Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141-", below:
Installation of Previously Removed Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141-
-- Remove the transmission connection cap -3-.
Risk of damaging the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- !
- The Drive Motor Rotor Position Sensor 1 -G713- and the high volt connection and cap -1- must not hit the transmission housing as they are lowered into the transmission.
-- Lower the Electro-Drive Drive Motor - V141- with the Shop Crane VAS6100 vertically into the transmission housing, until the four retaining straps for the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- are touching the stopping surfaces in the transmission housing. Align the retaining strap openings and the transmission housing axially.
Risk of damaging the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- !
- When installing the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- onto the transmission output shaft and the oil pump shaft it is possible that the teeth do not immediately fall into place in the tooth shaft connections.
- If in this case, the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- is lowered further, the Electro-Drive Drive Motor -V141- will suddenly slide and the retaining straps will get stuck on the surfaces upon impact in the transmission housing.
- Always avoid doing this, as the retaining straps and cylindrical roller bearing could become damaged.
-- Install the left flange shaft, refer to LEFT FLANGE SHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the transmission, refer to TRANSMISSION, INSTALLING .
