Front Backrest, Removing And Installing, Backrest And Seat Pan, RS Bucket Seat

1. Bolt
   • Install with locking compound.
   • 24 Nm
2. Bolt
   • 4 Nm
3. Seat Forward/Back Adjustment Handle
   • Disengage the seat fore/aft adjustment release cable. Refer to Fig 2.
4. Bolt
   • Install with locking compound.
   • 24 Nm
5. Seat Pan

   Removing 

   -- Remove the seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, RS BUCKET SEAT .

   -- Secure the seat on the Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair FixtureVAS6136. Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

   -- Remove side trim on sill side. Refer to SIDE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

   -- Remove side trim on tunnel side. Refer to SIDE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

   -- Remove control module. Refer to CONTROL MODULE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

   -- Disconnect the seat heater connector.

   -- Disconnect the pneumatic hose.

   -- Free up electrical wires on seat pan.

   -- Disengage the seat fore/aft adjustment release cable from release lever. Refer to Fig 2.

   -- Remove screws -1-, -4- and -11-

   -- Remove bolts -6- and -8- and set backrest aside behind seat pan.

   -- Remove seat pan.

   Installing 

   Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

   -- Install the bolts with locking compound; Locking compound.

6. Bolt
   • Install with locking compound.
   • 20 Nm
7. Backrest

   Removing 

   -- Remove the seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, RS BUCKET SEAT .

   -- Secure the seat on the Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair FixtureVAS6136. Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

   -- Remove side trim on sill side. Refer to SIDE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

   -- Remove side trim on tunnel side. Refer to SIDE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

   -- Remove control module. Refer to CONTROL MODULE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

   -- Disconnect the pneumatic hose.

   -- Disconnect the connector for the backrest heater and free up the wire.

   -- Remove screws -1-, -4- and -11-

   -- Remove seat pan -5-.

   -- Disconnect the pneumatic block wiring harness cable ties on the seat pan.

   -- Remove the seat forward/back adjustment handle -3- by removing the bolt -2-.

   -- Disengage the seat fore/aft adjustment release cable from release lever, refer to Fig 2.

   -- Disengage the seat rail release lever. Refer to SEAT FORWARD/BACK ADJUSTMENT RELEASE CABLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, RS BUCKET SEAT .

   -- Remove the bolts -6- and -8-.

   -- Remove backrest and guide electrical wiring harness out of seat frame.

   Installing 

   Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

   -- Install the bolts with locking compound; Locking compound.

8. Bolt
   • 20 Nm
   • Install with locking compound.
9. Pneumatic Hose
   • For lids for backrest bolster inflation adjustment
10. Wiring Harness
11. Bolt
    • 24 Nm
    • Install with locking compound.
12. Seat Frame

-- Remove the seat forward/back adjustment handle.

-- Press cable sleeve in direction of -arrow A- out of bracket.

-- Disengage the seat forward/back adjustment actuating link -1- from the release lever -arrow B-.
