Side Trim, Removing And Installing: Overview

1. Bolt
   • 1.2 Nm
2. Side Trim (Sill Side)

   Removing

   -- Remove the seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, RS BUCKET SEAT .

   -- Secure the seat on the Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair FixtureVAS6136. Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

   -- Remove hand wheel for backrest adjustment -11-. Refer to BACKREST ADJUSTMENT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, RS BUCKET SEAT .

   -- Unclip the outer side trim -14- SIDE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

   -- Remove the bolt -13- on the seat height adjustment handle.

   -- Remove the seat height adjustment handle -12-.

   -- Remove expanding clip -15-, press clamping pin through to the inside.

   -- Remove mounting bolt -1-.

   -- Separate the cable ties.

   -- Remove side panel at lower edge from retaining bracket on seat.

   -- Swing side panel upward at front edge.

   -- Remove side panel to side.

   -- Pull tab at rear of side panel out under backrest trim.

   -- Mark and release the electrical connector retainers.

   -- Free up electrical wiring.

   Installing

   Install in reverse order of removal.

3. Bolt
   • 0.4 Nm
4. Button for Seat Bolster Inflation Adjustment
   • Driver Seat Bolster Inflation Adjustment Button -E587-
   • Front Passenger Seat Bolster Inflation Adjustment Button -E588-
   • Removing and installing. Refer to BACKREST BOLSTER AND SEAT BOLSTER ADJUSTMENT BUTTON, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
5. Bolt
   • 0.4 Nm
6. Button for Backrest Bolster Inflation Adjustment
   • Driver Backrest Bolster Inflation Adjustment Button -E589-
   • Front Passenger Backrest Bolster Inflation Adjustment Button -E590-
   • Removing and installing. Refer to BACKREST BOLSTER AND SEAT BOLSTER ADJUSTMENT BUTTON, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
7. Bolt
   • 0.4 Nm
8. Lumbar Support Adjustment Switch
   • Driver Seat Lumbar Support Adjustment Switch -E176-
   • Front Passenger Seat Lumbar Support Adjustment Switch -E177-
   • Removing and installing. Refer to LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTMENT SWITCH, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, RS BUCKET SEAT .
9. Side Trim (Tunnel Side)

   Removing

   -- Remove the seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, RS BUCKET SEAT .

   -- Secure the seat on the Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair FixtureVAS6136. Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

   -- Remove expanding clip -10-, press clamping pin through to the inside.

   -- Disengage retaining detent at rear side of side panel on tunnel side.

   -- Remove the trim.

   Installing

   Install in reverse order of removal.

11. Hand Wheel For Backrest Adjustment
    • Removing and installing. Refer to BACKREST ADJUSTMENT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, RS BUCKET SEAT .
12. Seat Height Adjustment Handle
    • Removing and installing. Refer to SEAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, RS BUCKET SEAT .
13. Bolt
    • 22 Nm
    • Install with locking compound.
14. Side Panel on Outside
    • Removing and installing. Refer to SIDE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
15. Expanding Clip

-- Tighten the bolts -arrows- to 1.5 Nm.
