Battery, removing and installing: Installing

NOTE: Batteries from the Audi Parts Program have a bottom strip-adapter for adapting to different grip channels. Whether and how bottom strip-adapter is used, refer to operating instructions for battery.

Insert battery into battery holder so that tab of rear battery holder -arrow- engages into cutout for battery clamping strip -1-.

Battery must no longer be shifted.

Battery is properly inserted when center cutout of battery clamping strip aligns with threaded hole in battery holder -arrows-.

Installation is reverse of removal, paying attention to the following:

Observe notes for central venting of battery. Refer to Batteries with central gas venting .

With ignition switched off and electrical consumers switched off, connect battery in the following sequence:

Connect terminal clamp of positive cable on battery positive terminal "+" by hand and tighten nut -2-.
Connect terminal clamp of Ground (GND) wire to battery negative terminal "-" by hand and tighten nut -1-.
Check battery for proper seating after installation. Refer to Checking battery for secure seating .

NOTE:

When reconnecting the battery, remember to activate vehicle equipment (radio/radio navigation system, clock, electric window, ) in accordance with owner's manual.
Deactivate service mode of Telematic Control Module.

After reconnecting voltage supply, ABS Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) only goes out after driving several meters.
