Selector mechanism, disassembling and assembling: Notes

NOTE:
- Removing and installing securing spring for locking cable Removing and installing securing spring for locking cable .
- If selector gate or selector housing are faulty the entire selector mechanism has to be replaced. The two components cannot be adjusted using workshop tools.
Disassembling
- Shift selector lever to position "S".
- Remove Shift lock solenoid N110 - item 7 - → Shift lock solenoid N110, removing and installing .
- Unbolt and then unclip selector gate - 12 - from selector housing - 14 -.
- Release pivot pins - 5 - and - 19 - and pull them out sideways.
- Unclip retaining clips - 2 - and - 16 -.
- Pull off retaining clip - 17 -.
- Swivel locking lever - 11 - upward as far as it will go.
- Pull selector lever - 6 - together with bushings - 3 - and - 15 - and Tiptronic locking levers - 4 - and - 18 - downward out of selector housing - 14 -.
Assembling
- Make sure that selector lever is still in position "S".
- Swivel locking lever - 11 - upward as far as it will go.
- Insert selector lever - 6 - into selector lever housing - 14 - from below.
- Install Tiptronic locking levers - 4 - and - 18 - , and bushings - 3 - and - 15 - onto selector lever.
- Push selector lever - 6 - together with bushings into selector lever housing - 14 - and position with retaining clip - 17 -.
- Engage retaining clips - 2 - and - 16 - on selector lever housing.
- Press pivot pins - 5 - and - 19 - into selector lever - 6 - until they engage.
- Check that the pivot pins are engaged in the Tiptronic locking lever.
- Install Shift lock solenoid N110 - item 7 - → Shift lock solenoid N110, removing and installing .
- Clip selector gate - 12 - onto selector housing - 14 - and tighten to 0.4 Nm.
