Exhaust Manifold

Removing

NOTE:

During installation, cable ties must be installed at the same location.

-- Remove intake manifold. Refer to Removal and Installation .

Vehicles with engine code CBRA

-- Disconnect the vacuum hose -arrow-.

-- Remove bolts -1- and -4-.

NOTE:

Ignore -2 and 3-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and lay the pipe with the connected right combination valve for the Secondary Air Injection (AIR) to the side.

All Vehicles

-- Remove heat shield over exhaust manifold -arrows-.

CAUTION:

Risk of damaging decoupling elements.

Do not bend decoupling element in front exhaust pipe more than 10°.

-- Remove nuts -1 through 6- and slide front exhaust pipe back slightly from exhaust manifolds.

NOTE:

Oxygen sensors must not be removed.

-- Remove 7 nuts each on both exhaust manifolds -arrows- and remove nuts with washers.

-- Pull exhaust manifold back.

Installing

Tightening specifications, refer to EXHAUST MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW .

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

NOTE:

Replace seals and self-locking nuts.

-- Install front exhaust pipe. Refer to FRONT EXHAUST PIPE WITH CATALYTIC CONVERTERS AND FRONT MUFFLER .

-- Install intake manifold. Refer to Removal and Installation .
