Selector Mechanism: Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal while observing the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM OVERVIEW and GEARSHIFT KNOB WITH GEARSHIFT LEVER BOOT OVERVIEW .

NOTE:

Seals and self-locking nuts must be replaced.

-- Install the tunnel crossmember. Refer to TUNNEL CROSSMEMBER .

-- Install the heat shield under the shift mechanism. Refer to the appropriate service information .

-- Mount or install the driveshaft on the transmission. Refer to DRIVESHAFT ATTACHED ON TRANSMISSION SIDE or DRIVESHAFT, REMOVING FROM REAR FINAL DRIVE .

-- Reconnect exhaust system making sure it is not under stress. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, EMISSION CONTROLS .

-- Install the rear noise insulation. Refer to the appropriate service information .

-- Install the gearshift mechanism. Refer to SHIFT MECHANISM, ADJUSTING .

-- Install the multimedia system control head -E380-. Refer to MULTIMEDIA SYSTEM CONTROL HEAD -E380-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the A/C system control head. Refer to the appropriate service information .
