Right Flange Shaft

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Removing 

NOTE:

General repair instructions, refer to REPAIR INFORMATION .

Observe cleanliness rules when working on transmissions, refer to CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .

-- Remove right drive axle. Refer to Removal and Installation .

-- Remove right drive axle heat shield -arrows-.

NOTE:

The heat shield on a vehicle with a 3.2L MPI engine is shown in the illustration.

-- Place the V.A.G 1782 under the transmission.

-- Remove right flange shaft bolt with T10107 by installing 2 bolts in the flange and counter holding flange shaft with assembly lever.

-- Install T10037 on right flange shaft.

-- Align the T10037 with the knurled nutT10037/1 and the lower support -A- parallel to the flange.

-- Remove flange shaft.

Installing 

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to:

-- Carefully install the flange shaft while rotating it at the same time.

-- Install the flange shaft.

-- Install the right drive axle. Refer to Removal and Installation .

-- Axle oil level, checking and filling. Refer to AXLE OIL LEVEL, CHECKING AND FILLING .
