Front HVAC Unit: Attachments

Refer to FRONT HVAC UNIT  for notes on disassembly.

  1. Front Heating & A/C unit
  2. Fresh Air Blower Control Module -J126-
    • Removing and installing, refer to FRESH AIR BLOWER CONTROL MODULE -J126- .
    • Check using Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 in "Guided Fault Finding"  function.
    • There are different versions for vehicles with and without the parking/auxiliary heater.
      NOTE:

      As of 11.2007, the Comfort A/C system as an updated Fresh Air Blower Control Module -J126- (an updated Comfort Climatronic control module -J255- and an updated Fresh Air Blower -V2-). Make sure to use the correct allocation for these parts with each other. Refer to FRESH AIR BLOWER CONTROL MODULE -J126- .

  3. Screw
    • Tightening torque 10 Ncm
  4. Fresh Air Blower -V2-
    • Removing and installing, refer to FRESH AIR BLOWER -V2- .
    • Check using Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 in "Guided Fault Finding"  function.
      NOTE:

      As of 11.2007, the Comfort A/C system as an updated Fresh Air Blower Control Module -J126- (an updated Comfort Climatronic control module -J255- and an updated Fresh Air Blower -V2-). Make sure to use the correct allocation for these parts with each other. Refer to FRESH AIR BLOWER CONTROL MODULE -J126- .

  5. Coupling Rod
  6. Control Motor Door Motor -V113-
    • Versions vary for vehicles with Basic or Comfort A/C system.
      • With Recirculation Door Motor Position Sensor -G143- on Comfort version A/C system.
      • On vehicles with Basic A/C system, the control motor is moved only to its two end positions over the activation period by the Climatronic Control Module -J255-, it is not possible to detect malfunctions because of a missing potentiometer.
    • Removing and installing, refer to RECIRCULATION DOOR MOTOR V113 .
  7. Evaporator Vent Temperature Sensor -G263-
  8. Retaining Plate With Two Control Motors
    • With Right Footwell Door Motor -V109- (on Comfort version) or Left Footwell Door Motor -V108- (on Basic version).
    • With Right Temperature Door Motor -V159- (on Comfort version) or Left Temperature Door Motor -V158- (on Basic version).
      NOTE:

      The name for this control motor depends on the version of the Climatronic Control Module -J255-, it is different in the guided troubleshooting and the wiring diagram of the Comfort version and Basic version.

      On vehicles with Basic version of the Climatronic Control Module -J255-, left and right footwell doors are operated by the Left Footwell door Motor -V108- and left and right temperature doors by Left Temperature door Motor -V158- (both left and right doors are connected to each other respectively via a shaft), refer to AIR DUCT IN FRONT HEATING & A/C UNIT .

      • Right Footwell Door Motor Position Sensor -G140- is installed in Right Footwell Door Motor -V109-.
      • Left Footwell Door Motor Position Sensor -G139- is installed in Left Footwell Door Motor -V108-.
      • Right Temperature Door Potentiometer/Actuator -G221- is installed in Right Temperature Door Motor -V159-.
      • Left Temperature Door Potentiometer/Actuator -G220- is installed in Left Temperature Door Motor -V158-.
    • Removing and installing retaining plate with control motors, refer to RETAINING PLATE WITH CONTROL MOTORS -V158- / -V159- AND -V109- / -V108- .
    • Removing control motors from retaining plate, refer to RIGHT TEMPERATURE DOOR MOTOR -V159- (OR LEFT TEMPERATURE DOOR MOTOR -V158-)  and RIGHT FOOTWELL DOOR MOTOR -V109- (OR LEFT FOOTWELL DOOR MOTOR -V108-) .
  9. Screw
    • Tightening torque 10 Ncm
  10. Cover For Right Heater Core
  11. Cover for left heater core
  12. Retaining Plate With Two Control Motors
  13. Retaining Plate With Three (or Two) Control Motors
  14. Wire For Temperature Sensor
  15. Left Front Upper Body Outlet Temperature Sensor -G385-
  16. Right Front Upper Body Outlet Temperature Sensor -G386-
  17. Retaining Plate With Two Control Motors
    • Only present on Comfort version.
    • With Right Side Vent Motor -V300-
    • With Right Center Vent Motor -V111-
      NOTE:

      On vehicles with Basic version of Climatronic Control Module -J255-, the doors for left and right side vents as well as doors for left and right center vents are operated by Left Side Vent Motor -V299- (left and right doors are connected to each other respectively via a shaft, both shafts are connected to a lever), refer to AIR DUCT IN FRONT HEATING & A/C UNIT .

      • Right Side Vent Motor Position Sensor -G523- is installed in Right Side Vent Motor -V300-.
      • Right Center Vent Motor Position Sensor -G137- is installed in Right Center Vent Motor -V111-.
    • Removing and installing retaining plate with control motors, refer to RETAINING PLATE WITH CONTROL MOTORS -V111- AND -V300- .
    • Removing control motors from retaining plate, refer to RIGHT CENTER VENT MOTOR V111  and RIGHT SIDE VENT MOTOR -V300- .
  18. Grommet
    • Only on vehicles without glove compartment cooling (optional equipment).
  19. Hose
    • Only on vehicles with glove compartment cooling (optional equipment).
  20. Air Guide
    • Only on vehicles with glove compartment cooling (optional equipment).
  21. Screw
    • Only on vehicles with glove compartment cooling (optional equipment).
  22. Retainer For Connector
  23. Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor -G89-
  24. Wiring Harness For Heating and A/C Unit
    • Different versions (Basic and Comfort, for vehicles with left- or right-side steering).
      NOTE:

      As of 11.2007, the Comfort A/C system as an updated Fresh Air Blower Control Module -J126- (an updated Comfort Climatronic control module -J255- and an updated Fresh Air Blower -V2-). An updated wiring harness is also being used. Make sure to use the correct allocation for these parts with each other. Refer to FRESH AIR BLOWER CONTROL MODULE -J126- .

  25. Cable Ties
    • For mounting wiring harness on heating & A/C unit.
  26. Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor -G261-
  27. Right Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor -G262-
