Exhaust System, Installing

Proceed as follows:

Align exhaust system when cold.
Tightening specifications, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM OVERVIEW .

-- Loosen the screws on the front clamping sleeves, refer to -Item 7- EXHAUST SYSTEM OVERVIEW.

-- If present, loosed threaded connections on rear clamping sleeves, refer to -Item 12- EXHAUST SYSTEM OVERVIEW.

-- Press exhaust system forward -arrow- under the following tensions are adjusted on the individual retaining loops:

Retaining loop on the center muffler: dimension -a- = 4 mm.

Left and right retaining loops on the rear muffler: dimension -a- = 10 mm.

-- Hold exhaust system in this position and tighten clamping sleeve screws evenly.

NOTE:

A 2nd technician is needed to align the exhaust system with clamping sleeves between center and rear mufflers.

If all adjustment dimensions are not achieved, remove affected bracket from body and shift accordingly.

-- Align the tail pipes, refer to TAIL PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
