Ribbed Belt Drive Overview

  1. Ribbed Belt
    • Check for wear.
    • Before Removal, mark the direction of rotation using chalk or a felt-tip pen.
    • Removing and Installing. Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
    • Do not kink.
    • When Installation, make sure it is seated correctly on the ribbed belt pulleys.
  2. Bolt
    • 20 Nm + 90°
    • Replace
  3. Shim
    • Replace
  4. Idler Roller Cover
  5. Generator
  6. Bolt
    • Tightening specifications: 23 Nm. .
  7. Idler Roller Cover
  8. Bolt
    • 23 Nm
  9. Idler Roller for Ribbed Belt
    • On the generator bracket.
    • Pay attention to the installed position.
  10. Bolt
    • 40 Nm
  11. Generator and Idler Roller Bracket
  12. Bolt
    • 23 Nm
  13. Right Idler Roller for Ribbed Belt
    • Pay attention to the installed position.
  14. Left Idler Roller Cover
  15. Bolt
    • 23 Nm
  16. Bolt
  17. Coolant Pump Ribbed Belt Pulley
  18. Bolt
    • Tightening specification and sequence, refer to Fig 2.
  19. Coolant Pump
  20. Left Idler Roller for Ribbed Belt
  21. Bolt
    • 23 Nm
  22. Idler Roller Holder
  23. Bolt
  24. Power Steering Pump
  25. Power Steering Pump Ribbed Belt Pulley
  26. Bolt
  27. Seal
    • Replace
  28. Auxiliary Components Bracket
  29. Bolt
    • 40 Nm
  30. Bolt
    • Tightening specification: 25 Nm. .
  31. A/C Compressor
  32. Alignment Sleeve
    • Quantity: 2
    • Make sure the accessory assembly bracket fits correctly.
  33. Bolt
    • 23 Nm
  34. Ribbed Belt Tensioning Damper
    CAUTION:

    Depending on the vehicle equipment level, the bracket in the cylinder crankshaft housing for the tensioner can be designed using an M10 or M11 thread. The bolt and the tensioner for the cylinder crankshaft housing must absolutely be perfectly allocated.

  35. Bolt
    • M10 bolt: 50 Nm +90°
    • M11 bolt: 60 Nm +90°
    • Replace
      CAUTION:

      Differing threads in the crankshaft housing.

      Before assembling, check whether the thread is an M10 or M11.

      Use the proper bolt size. The engine could be damaged.

      The bolt and the tensioner for the cylinder crankshaft housing must absolutely be perfectly allocated.
