Final Drive 0BE, 0BF Overview

CAUTION:

Only some components on the rear final drive can be disassembled.

Currently both chambers -item 11- in 11 and -item 25- 25 cannot be removed from the final drive.
It is therefore currently not possible to repair the interior components.

Bolt
- 50 Nm + an additional 90° turn
- Always replace.
Right Flange Shaft
- Removing and installing, refer to LEFT SEAL, REPLACING, 0BE, 0BF
- Do not confuse with the left flange shaft, they are different
Ring
- Replacing, refer to FLANGE SHAFT RING, REPLACING, 0BE, 0BF
ATF Breather Pipe
- For the left chamber
- Clip onto the bleed pipe
Gasket
- With screen
Hydraulic Control Unit
- With the All Wheel Drive Pump -V415- and lines to the chambers
- Removing and installing, refer to ALL WHEEL DRIVE PUMP -V415-, 0BE, 0BF .
- Disassembling and assembling, refer to HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT, 0BE, 0BF
Bolt
- 20 Nm
- Quantity: 2
- M8; 50 mm long
- Follow the tightening sequence Attach The Hydraulic Control Unit -1- To The Rear Final Drive As Follows:
Bolt
- 20 Nm
- M8; 50 mm long
- With a permanent seal under the bolt head
- Coat the thread with Sealing CompoundD 176 501 A1
- Follow the tightening sequence Attach The Hydraulic Control Unit -1- To The Rear Final Drive As Follows:
Bolt
- 20 Nm
- M8; 30 mm long
- Follow the tightening sequence Attach the hydraulic control unit -1- to the rear final drive as follows:
Shaft Seal
- For the left flange shaft
- Replacing, refer to LEFT SEAL, REPLACING, 0BE, 0BF
Left Chamber
ATF Check Plug
- 15 Nm
- Always replace.
- With permanent seal
Left Flange Shaft
- Removing and installing, refer LEFT SEAL, REPLACING, 0BE, 0BF
- Do not confuse with the right flange shaft, they are different
Ring
- Replacing, refer to FLANGE SHAFT RING, REPLACING, 0BE, 0BF
ATF Drain Plug
- 15 Nm
- Always replace
- With permanent seal
Gear Oil Drain Plug
- 15 Nm
- Always replace
- With permanent seal
Final Drive Housing
Shaft Seal
- For the flange/driveshaft
- Replacing on rear final drive 0BF. Refer to INPUT SHAFT SEAL, REPLACING, 0BF .
- Replacing on rear final drive 0BE. Refer to INPUT SHAFT SEAL, REPLACING, 0BE .
Ring
- Replacing, refer to FLANGE INPUT SHAFT RING, REPLACING, 0BE, 0BF
Flange/Driveshaft
- Removing and installing on final drive 0BF, refer to INPUT SHAFT SEAL, REPLACING, 0BF .
- Removing and installing on final drive 0BE, refer to INPUT SHAFT SEAL, REPLACING, 0BE .
Locking Ring
- Always replace.
- Installing on final drive 0BF Install the circlip -1- as follows: refer to INSTALLING .
- Installing on final drive 0BE Install the circlip -1- as follows: refer to INSTALLING .
Gear Oil Inspection Plug
- 15 Nm
- Always replace.
- With permanent seal
Bracket
- For wiring harness
Bolt
- 9 Nm
Right Chamber
Shaft Seal
- For the right flange shaft
- Replacing, refer to LEFT SEAL, REPLACING, 0BE, 0BF
ATF Breather Pipe
- For the right chamber
- Clip onto the bleed pipe
Final Drive Bleeder
- Clip onto the bleed pipe

Driveshaft

- Removing and installing, refer to DRIVESHAFT, DRIVESHAFT CONNECTED ON TRANSMISSION SIDE or DRIVESHAFT, DRIVESHAFT BOLTED ON TRANSMISSION SIDE
Rear Final Drive
- Removing and installing, refer to FINAL DRIVE
- Additional work after replacing the rear final drive. Refer to ADDITIONAL WORK AFTER REPLACING REAR FINAL DRIVE 0BE, 0BF
Drive Axle
- Overview, refer to OVERVIEW - REAR AXLE
