Electrical And Electronic Component Locations

Location: Data Link Connector (DLC) is located beneath knee bolster on left of steering wheel.

Location: Shift lock solenoid -1- is located in selector mechanism.

The solenoid is permanently installed in selector mechanism and cannot be replaced separately. Removal and installation is only possible in conjunction with selector mechanism. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM .

Location: direct shift gearbox (DSG) mechatronic -J743- is bolted on to transmission housing at front and covered by transmission oil pan.

The control module is permanently integrated on direct shift gearbox (DSG) mechatronic -J743-.

Location: The transmission input speed (RPM) sensor -G182- and clutch oil temperature sensor -G509- -A- are attached to the transmission housing under direct shift gearbox (DSG) mechatronic -J743-.

Refer to TRANSMISSION INPUT SPEED SENSOR AND CLUTCH OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR .

Location: The selector lever -E313- with tiptronic switch -F189- as well as selector lever park position lock switch -F319- are permanently integrated into circuit board -B- of the selector mechanism. Components cannot be replaced separately.

Removal and installation of selector lever -E313- with tiptronic switch -F189- as well as selector lever park position lock switch -F319- can only be performed together with selector mechanism. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM .

Location: Integrated into instrument cluster

NOTE:

The Transmission Range (TR) Display can only be replaced together with the instrument cluster.

If Transmission Range (TR) Display flashes or lights up, refer to transmission control module safety functions. Refer to Transmission Control Module, Safety Functions

Instrument cluster, removing and installing. Refer to [For engine(s) CBRA, BPY, CETA, CCTA, CEPB, CDMA] Removal and Installation .

Location: In selector lever boot trim -1-.

Selector lever scale illumination -L101-, removing and installing. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER SCALE ILLUMINATION .

Location: Brake light switch -arrow- is located in foot pedal assembly.

Brake light switch, removing and installing. Refer to Removal and Installation .

NOTE:

Switch is only to be installed once so as to ensure a firm fit.

A programmed value from throttle position (TP) sensor -G79- and accelerator pedal position sensor 2 -G185- (integrated in accelerator pedal module) are saved in engine control module as a kick-down signal.

Accelerator pedal module, removing and installing. Refer to [For engine(s) CBRA, BPY, CETA, CCTA, CEPB, CDMA] Removal and Installation .
