Shift Lever And Shift Housing For Vehicles From VIN 8J-7-013001 Assembly Overview

- Lubricate mounting areas and slide surfaces with grease G 000 450 02.
- Selector mechanism, disassembling and assembling, refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM .
- Base Plate
- Always replace
- Bend open tabs to remove
- Gasket
- Replace
- Selector Lever
- Can be removed and installed with the shift lever guide installed -15-
- Damping Washer
- Slide out of shift lever as far as stop -arrow-
- Retaining Clip
- Replace
- Do not damage cables when removing
- Selector Cable
- Pry off of selector bracket
- Press onto selector bracket inside the shift mechanism
- Installation location, refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM OVERVIEW
- Bushing
- Shift Cable
- Pry off of shift lever guide
- Press onto shift lever guide inside the shift mechanism
- Installation location, refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM OVERVIEW
- Damper
- Bearing Shell
- Replace
- Is damaged during removal
- Bushing
- Retaining Washer
- Removing and installing, refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING LOCK WASHER
- Spring
- Bushing
- Shift Lever Guide
- Nut
- M6 - 8 Nm
- M8 - 25 Nm
