Oil Pan Lower Section, Removing And Installing: Installing
- Tightening specification. Refer to Figure.
Replace seals.
Danger of eye injury.
- Wear protective eyewear.
-- Using rotating plastic brush, remove any remaining sealant from lower section of oil pan and upper section.
-- Clean the sealing surfaces. They must be free of oil and grease.
Pay attention to the expiration date of the sealant.
-- Cut the tube nozzle at the front marking (nozzle diameter: about 1.5 mm).
The lubrication system could be plugged with excess sealant.
- Do not apply sealant bead thicker than indicated.
-- Apply a sealant bead -arrow- to the clean sealing surface on the lower section of the oil pan as shown in illustration.
- Sealant bead thickness: 3.5 mm
Install the lower section of the oil pan within five minutes of applying the sealant.
-- Position the lower section of the oil pan and tighten the bolts. Refer to Figure.
-- Install the universal joint on steering gear. Refer to POWER STEERING GEAR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the engine support and the engine mount. Refer to OVERVIEW - SUBFRAME .
-- Tighten the coupling rods and the subframe. Refer to SUBFRAME, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the air guide pipe. Refer to OVERVIEW - AIR GUIDE PIPES AND AIR GUIDE HOSES .
-- Install the air filter. Refer to AIR FILTER .
-- Install the noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Fill the engine oil and check the oil level.
