Reducing Agent Passive Tank, Draining
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Engine Bung SetVAS6122
- Drip tray
Procedure
Follow all safety precautions. Refer to SELECTIVE CATALYTIC REDUCTION (SCR) SYSTEM SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to FUEL SUPPLY, INJECTION SYSTEM AND CHARGING SYSTEM CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
-- Remove the reducing agent passive tank. Refer to REDUCING AGENT PASSIVE TANK, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
The reducing agent can cause skin irritation.
- Avoid contact with skin and eyes! Always wear protective gloves and safety glasses.
- If reducing agent should get on your skin, wash it off immediately with soap and water.
- If reducing agent gets in your eye, rinse the eye for several minutes with water.
- Never inhale or swallow the reducing agent!
- Should you swallow any reducing agent, rinse your mouth, drink plenty of water and contact a doctor immediately.
-- Seal off the connection -2- on the passive tank with a clean plug.
-- Attach an extension hose -4- to the connection -3- and place it in a container.
-- Tip the passive tank to drain as much reducing agent as possible into the drip tray.
-- Carefully remove the connecting hose -5- from the connection -arrow- on the Reducing Agent Transfer Pump -V436- -1-.
-- Push the hose down and hold it in the container.
-- Drain any remaining reducing agent still inside the passive tank into the drip tray using the connecting hose.
-- Close open lines and connections with clean plugs from the Engine Bung SetVas6122.
After Filling, the Following Steps Must Be Performed
-- Adapt the adaptation value after draining reducing agent or replacing components. Refer to SELECTIVE CATALYTIC REDUCTION- ADAPTATION VALUE, RESETTING .
