Overview - Turbocharger

- Tighten last to 23 Nm diagonally and in steps
- Stud Bolt
- Tightening specification: 10 Nm
- Replace nuts after each time they are loosened

- Turbocharger, removing and installing. Refer to TURBOCHARGER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Turbocharger Control Module 1 -J724-, removing and installing. Refer to Turbocharger Control Module 1 -J724-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Bracket
- For the connector and engine cover
- Bolt
- Tightening specification: 9 Nm
- Connection
- For air guide hose
- From the Mass Airflow Sensor -G70- to the turbocharger
- Must be free of oil and grease before installing
- O-Ring
- Replace
- Hose
- For the crankcase ventilation
- Bolt
- Tightening specification: 9 Nm
- Nut
- Replace
- Coat the thread with hot bolt paste.
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 2.
- Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 1 -G235-
- Removing and installing. Refer to Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 1 -G235-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 3.
- Pipe
- To the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) pipe cooler
- Seal

- Replace
- Coat the thread with hot bolt paste.
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to OVERVIEW - MUFFLER .
- Pre-Catalytic Converter
- Removing and installing. Refer to PRE-CATALYTIC CONVERTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Seal
- Replace
- Bolt
- Tightening specification: 30 Nm +90°
- Replace
- Coat the thread with hot bolt paste.
- Exhaust Manifold
- Removing and installing. Refer to LEFT EXHAUST MANIFOLD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING , and RIGHT EXHAUST MANIFOLD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 2.
- Bolt
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 2.
- Bracket
- For the turbocharger
NOTE:
Replace the stud bolts and the nuts.
Tightening Specifications
-- Tighten the bolts and nuts in seven steps in the sequence shown:

| 1 | Stud bolts for the nuts -1 and 2-. | 10 Nm |
| 2 | -1 and 2- | Install all the way in by hand. |
| 3 | -1 and 2- | 9 Nm |
| 4 | -1 and 2- | Turn an additional 90°. |
| 5 | -3, 4 and 5- | Install all the way in by hand. |
| 6 | -3 and 4- | 9 Nm |
| 7 | -5- | 23 Nm |
