Check locking button on selector lever handle
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
Check locking button for ease of movement:
- It must be possible to press locking button without great force.
- After releasing, the locking button must come all the way back out by itself
If specified values are not obtained:
- Check whether selector lever handle is installed correctly → Selector lever handle, removing and installing
- Check whether selector rod or selector lever is bent.
Function test:
- Ignition switched on
Locking button on selector lever handle must be pressed for the following shifts. If it is not pressed, the selector lever cannot be shifted into specified position.
- "P" to "R" and also press brake pedal
- "D" to "S"
- "N" to "R" ; in standstill, also press brake pedal after long wait
- "R" to "P"
If specified values are not obtained:
- Check whether selector lever handle is installed correctly → Selector lever handle, removing and installing
- Carry out "Guided Fault Finding" with Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 and check Shift Lock Solenoid N110.
- Adjust selector lever cable → Selector lever cable, checking and adjusting .
