Ribbed belt alignment, checking

Check alignment of ribbed belt after replacing the following components:
- Power steering pump
- Air conditioner compressor
- Bracket for power steering pump and A/C compressor
NOTE:
- To prevent damage to the ribbed belt, check alignment of ribbed belt between A/C compressor and power steering vane pump.
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
- Alignment gauge 3201
- Spanner Wrench 3212
Test sequence
- Lock carrier pulled toward front → Lock carrier, pulling toward front .
- Ribbed belt removed → Ribbed belt, removing and installing .
- Place alignment gauge 3201 on ribbed belt pulley of A/C compressor.
- Ribbed belt pulley of vane pump and ribbed belt pulley of A/C compressor must align.
If ribbed belt pulleys do not align:
- Remove bolts - arrows - of ribbed belt pulley for vane pump.
NOTE:
- For removing and installing bolts use spanner wrench 3212 to counter hold.
- Installed location: Writing "front" on ribbed belt pulley indicates direction of travel.

- Adjust distance between ribbed belt pulley of vane pump to ribbed belt pulley of A/C compressor using spacer discs of 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5 mm, part number .
- Check alignment of ribbed belt pulleys using alignment gauge 3201. Readjust if necessary.
NOTE:
- Secure all hose connections using hose clamps appropriate for the model type .
