Ribbed belt alignment, checking

Check alignment of ribbed belt after replacing the following components:

NOTE:
  • To prevent damage to the ribbed belt, check alignment of ribbed belt between A/C compressor and power steering vane pump.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Test sequence

If ribbed belt pulleys do not align:

NOTE:
  • For removing and installing bolts use spanner wrench 3212 to counter hold.
  • Installed location: Writing "front" on ribbed belt pulley indicates direction of travel.

NOTE:
  • Secure all hose connections using hose clamps appropriate for the model type .
