Check locking button on selector lever handle

Check locking button for ease of movement:

It must be possible to press locking button without great force.
After releasing, the locking button must come all the way back out by itself

If specified values are not obtained:

Check whether selector lever handle is installed correctly → Selector lever handle, removing and installing
Check whether selector rod or selector lever is bent.

Function test:

Ignition switched on

Locking button on selector lever handle must be pressed for the following shifts. If it is not pressed, the selector lever cannot be shifted into specified position.

"P" to "R" and also press brake pedal
"D" to "S"
"N" to "R" ; in standstill, also press brake pedal after long wait
"R" to "P"

If specified values are not obtained:

Check whether selector lever handle is installed correctly → Selector lever handle, removing and installing
Carry out "Guided Fault Finding" with Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051B and check Shift Lock Solenoid N110.
Adjust selector lever cable → Selector lever cable, checking and adjusting .
