Selector lever cable, checking and adjusting

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

NOTE:
  • Do not bend or kink the selector lever cable.

NOTE:
  • The connector - - is also covered by a protective sleeve.

NOTE:
  • To ensure that selector shaft lever is in position "D" , shift the selector shaft lever on transmission forward until stop in position "P". Then, move it three shift positions toward the rear again (opposite of driving direction).
  • It must be possible to press selector lever cable on to lever/shift rod.

Adjusting 

NOTE:
  • Loosen clamp bolt approx. 1 turn - do not remove completely.
  • With clamp bolt loosened, selector lever must remain in position "D" , otherwise adjustment will be incorrect.
NOTE:
  • Do not pull selector lever back or forward while adjusting, otherwise adjustment will be incorrect.
