Re-setting service interval display after service without VAS 5051

CAUTION:
For re-setting without VAS 5051, service is automatically set to a fixed interval value.
The service message must be reset after a service has been performed.
Re-setting the Service Reminder Indicator (SRI) can be performed with the VAG1551 Scant tool in the "adaptation" function. See ADAPTATION CHANNEL 02-RESETTING SRI AFTER SERVICE .
The SRI can also be reset via the following procedure:
- Switch ignition off.
- Press reset button for trip odometer display in instrument cluster and hold.
- Switch ignition on with button pressed.
- Release button.
The following appears in display after releasing trip recorder: "SERVICE IN ????MI" or "SERVICE!"
- Hold adjustment button for clock in instrument cluster pressed, until the message is reset to "SERVICE IN ????MI" or "SERVICE!"
The display reads: "SERVICE IN 10000 MI".
- Switch ignition off.
