Fuel Tank Heat Shield

REMOVAL 

  1. Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, SIDE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Remove the exhaust resonator. Refer to RESONATOR, EXHAUST, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  3. Remove the bolt (1a), the nut (1b) and the rear bumper lower edge air manifold reinforcement bracket (1c).
  4. Remove the rear muffler. Refer to MUFFLER, EXHAUST, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  5. Using a suitable tool remove the rivets (1) securing the exhaust pipe heat shield (2) to the fuel tank mounting brackets.
  6. Remove the exhaust pipe heat shield (2) from the fuel tank.

INSTALLATION 

  1. Install the exhaust pipe heat shield on the fuel tank.
  2. Secure the exhaust pipe heat shield to the fuel tank mounting brackets using the rivets.
  3. Install the rear muffler. Refer to MUFFLER, EXHAUST, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Install the rear bumper lower edge air manifold reinforcement bracket and securely tighten the bolt and nut.
  5. Install the exhaust resonator. Refer to RESONATOR, EXHAUST, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Install the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, SIDE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
