Removal And Installation

REMOVAL 

1. Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, SIDE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
2. Remove the exhaust resonator. Refer to RESONATOR, EXHAUST, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

3. Remove the screw (1a), the nut (1b) and the rear bumper lower edge air manifold reinforcement bracket (1c).

4. Remove the rear screws (1a) securing the rear bumper bottom edge air duct (1b) to the bodyshell.
5. On both sides, loosen the screw (2a) and remove the buttons (2b) securing the rear bumper bottom edge air duct to the wheel arch (2c).

6. Disconnect the vacuum line (1a) from the rear exhaust muffler valve by-pass actuator (1b), on the left side.
7. Suitably support the rear exhaust muffler.
8. Remove the bolt (2a) securing the rear exhaust muffler mounting bracket to the body (2b) on the left side.

9. Disconnect the vacuum line (1a) from the rear exhaust muffler valve by-pass actuator (1b), on the right side.
10. Remove the bolt (2a) and remove the rear exhaust muffler (2b).

11. Remove the left and right flexible mountings (1) that support the rear exhaust muffler.
12. If necessary, remove the rear muffler by-pass valve actuator. Refer to VALVE, REAR EXHAUST MUFFLER BYPASS ACTUATOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

INSTALLATION 

1. Put the left and right rear exhaust muffler support flexible mountings in their seats.
2. Suitably support the rear exhaust muffler.

3. Place the rear exhaust muffler (1a) in its housing and tighten the mounting bracket bolt (1b) to the right side of the bodyshell to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
4. Connect the vacuum line (2a) to the rear exhaust muffler valve by-pass actuator (2b), on the right side.

5. Tighten the bolt (1a) securing the rear exhaust silencer mounting bracket (1b) to the left side of the body shell to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
6. Connect the vacuum pipe (2a) to the rear exhaust muffler valve by-pass actuator (2b) on the left side.
7. On both sides, tighten the screw and apply the buttons securing the rear bumper bottom edge air duct to the wheel arch.
8. Tighten the rear screws securing the rear bumper bottom edge air duct to the body shell.
9. Install the rear bumper lower edge air manifold reinforcement bracket and securely tighten the screw and nut.
10. Install the exhaust resonator. Refer to RESONATOR, EXHAUST, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
11. Install the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, SIDE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
