Removal And Installation

REMOVAL
- Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
or BELLY PAN, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
or BELLY PAN, SIDE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
.
- Remove the bolts (1a) and the tunnel reinforcement bracket (1b).
- Disconnect the rear exhaust muffler isolators (1).
- Remove the bolts (1a) and the exhaust isolator (1b).
- Loosen the nut (1a) that secures the exhaust resonator pipe (1c) to the left catalytic converter.
- Loosen the nut (1a) that secures the exhaust resonator pipe (1c) to the right catalytic converter.
- Position a suitable hydraulic lift (1) underneath the exhaust resonator (2b).NOTE:
Adequately protect the two flex joints to prevent excessive bending.
- Loosen the nuts (2a) and remove the front exhaust resonator (2b) disconnecting it from the catalytic converters and from the rear exhaust muffler.
INSTALLATION
- Place the front exhaust muffler back in its housing using a suitable hydraulic jack.
- Connect the front exhaust silencer (2a) to the rear exhaust silencer and tighten the nut (2b) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the exhaust pipe (1a) to the right catalytic converter and tighten the nut (1b) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the exhaust pipe (1a) to the left catalytic converter and tighten the nut (1b) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the exhaust isolator (1b) and tighten the bolts (1a) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the rear exhaust muffler isolators (1).
- Install the tunnel reinforcement bracket (1a) and tighten the bolts (1b) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, SIDE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
