DTC: U0100-00, U0122-00, U0151-00, U0155-00, U129C-00 (EPS Control Unit: With ACC)

DTC (EPS)

  1. Problem verification

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then ON mode.

    -4. Wait for 60 seconds or more

    -5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    Is any of DTC indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 2.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the Freeze data/on-board snapshot.

  2. CAN gateway system DTC check

    -1. Check for CAN gateway system DTCs with the HDS.

    Are any DTCs indicated?

    YES 

    Go to indicated DTCs troubleshooting

    NO 

    Go to step 3.

  3. F-CAN circuit communication check (Receiving control unit)

    -1. Select the FUNCTION TEST in the CAN gateway with the HDS, then select the F-CAN Bus Connected Unit Check.

    Which result is indicated?

    Bus B is Not Available

    Go to step 4.

    Bus B is Available

    Go to step 5.

  4. Open wire check (F-CAN B_H, F-CAN B_L lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connectors.

    CAN gateway 16P connector
    EPS control unit connector B (6P)

    -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      CAN gateway 16P connector: disconnected
      EPS control unit connector B (6P): disconnected
    Test point 1 CAN gateway 16P connector (female terminals) No. 6:
    Test point 2 EPS control unit connector B (6P) No. 4
    Test point 1 CAN gateway 16P connector (female terminals) No. 14:

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    The F-CAN B_H wire and F-CAN B_L wire are OK. Check for loose terminals and poor connections at the EPS control unit connector B (6P) and the CAN gateway 16P connector. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the steering gearbox.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the CAN gateway and the EPS control unit.

  5. F-CAN circuit communication check (Transmitting control unit)

    -1. Select the FUNCTION TEST in the CAN gateway with the HDS, then select the F-CAN Bus Connected Unit Check.

    According to the detected DTC on the following table, make sure that the transmitting control unit detects the CAN gateway Bus channel (s) normally.

    Is it detected normally?

    Detected normal

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose terminals and poor connections at the transmitting control unit and the CAN gateway.

    U0100-00: PCM is Not Available for Bus A

    Go to step 6.

    U0100-00: PCM is Not Available for Bus B

    Go to step 7.

    U0100-00: PCM is Not Available for Bus D

    Go to step 9.

    U0122: VSA modulator-control unit is Not Available for Bus A

    Go to step 6.

    U0122: VSA modulator-control unit is Not Available for Bus B

    Go to step 7.

    U0151-00: SRS unit is Not Available for Bus B

    Go to step 7.

    U0155-00: Gauge control module is Not Available for Bus C

    Go to step 8.

    U129C-00: Millimeter wave radar is Not Available for Bus D

    Go to step 9.

    U129C-00: Millimeter wave radar is Not Available for Bus E

    Go to step 10.

  6. Open wire check (F-CAN A_H, F-CAN A_L lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. According to the detected DTC on the following table, disconnect the transmitting control unit connector (s).

    U0122-00 VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector

    NOTE:  Before disconnecting the PCM connector A (50P), jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

    -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

      Transmitting control unit connector (s) for indicated DTCs: disconnected

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    The F-CAN A_H wire and F-CAN A_L wire are OK. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. According to the detected DTC on the following table, replace the correspond control unit.

    DTC Operation for transmitting control unit
    U0100-00 Check for loose terminals and poor connections at the CAN gateway and the PCM. If they are OK, replace the PCM .
    U0122-00 Check for loose terminals and poor connections at the CAN gateway and the VSA modulator-control unit. If they are OK, Replace the VSA modulator-control unit .

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the transmitting control unit and the CAN gateway.

  7. Open wire check (F-CAN B_H, F-CAN B_L lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    According to the detected DTC on the following table, disconnect the transmitting control unit connector (s).

    U0122-00 VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector

    NOTE: 

    -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    The F-CAN B_H wire and F-CAN B_L wire are OK. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. According to the detected DTC on the following table, replace the correspond control unit.

    DTC Operation for transmitting control unit
    U0100-00 Check for loose terminals and poor connections at the CAN gateway and the PCM. If they are OK, replace the PCM .
    U0122-00 Check for loose terminals and poor connections at the CAN gateway and the VSA modulator-control unit. If they are OK, replace the VSA modulator-control unit .
    U0151-00 Check for loose terminals and poor connections at the CAN gateway and the SRS unit. If they are OK, replace the SRS unit .

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the transmitting control unit and the CAN gateway.

  8. Open wire check (F-CAN C_H, F-CAN C_L lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. According to the detected DTC on the following table, disconnect the transmitting control unit connector (s).

    -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    The F-CAN C_H wire and F-CAN C_L wire are OK. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. According to the detected DTC on the following table, replace the correspond control unit.

    U0155-00 Check for loose terminals and poor connections at the CAN gateway and the Gauge control module. If they are OK, replace the Gauge control module .

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the transmitting control unit and the CAN gateway.

  9. Open wire check (F-CAN D_H, F-CAN D_L lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. According to the detected DTC on the following table, disconnect the transmitting control unit connector (s).

    U129C-00 Millimeter wave radar 8P connector

    NOTE:  Before disconnecting the PCM connector A (50P), jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

    -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    The F-CAN D_H wire and F-CAN D_L wire are OK. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. According to the detected DTC on the following table, replace the correspond control unit.

    DTC Operation for transmitting control unit
    U0100-00 Check for loose terminals and poor connections at the CAN gateway and the PCM. If they are OK, replace the PCM .
    U129C-00 Check for loose terminals and poor connections at the CAN gateway and the Millimeter wave radar. If they are OK, Replace the Millimeter wave radar .

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the transmitting control unit and the CAN gateway.

  10. Open wire check (F-CAN E_H, F-CAN E_L lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. According to the detected DTC on the following table, disconnect the transmitting control unit connector (s).

    -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    The F-CAN E_H wire and F-CAN E_L wire are OK. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. According to the detected DTC on the following table, replace the correspond control unit.

    DTC Operation for transmitting control unit
    U129C-00 Check for loose terminals and poor connections at the CAN gateway and the Millimeter wave radar. If they are OK, Replace the Millimeter wave radar .

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the transmitting control unit and the CAN gateway.
