DTC U0229  : Gauge Control Module Lost Communication With HSW ECU

DTC (Gauge Control Module)

NOTE: 

• SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations , and precautions and procedures before doing repairs or servicing.
• Before testing, make sure the No. E27 (10 A) fuse in the passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box is OK.
• After testing, clear the SRS control unit DTCs.

1. Problem verification

   -1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

   -2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode and then the ON mode.

   -3. Wait for at least 4 seconds.

   -4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

   U0229 Gauge Control Module Lost Communication With HSW ECU

   Is DTC U0229 indicated?

   YES 

   Go to the heated steering wheel control unit input test , and do all power, ground, and LIN line input tests. If the input tests prove OK, replace the heated steering wheel control unit .

   NO 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.
