DTC U129C  : Gauge control module lost communication with FCW/LDW camera unit (FCW/LDW frame)

DTC (Gauge Control Module)

NOTE: 

• If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A - Refer to: Body Electrical Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A - Initial Communication and DTC Checks (2014 2015 2016)
• If the HDS does not communicate with the FCW/LDW camera unit, the FCW indicator stay on, and no FCW DTCs are stored, go to symptom troubleshooting for FCW indicator does not go off, and no DTCs are stored - Refer to: Forward Collision Warning (FCW) Symptom Troubleshooting - FCW indicator does not go off (LDW indicator is ok), or
• If the HDS does not communicate with the FCW/LDW camera unit, the LDW indicator stay on, and no LDW DTCs are stored, go to symptom troubleshooting for LDW indicator does not go off, and no DTCs are stored - Refer to: Lane Departure Warning (LDW) Symptom Troubleshooting - LDW indicator does not go off (FCW indicator is ok),

1. Problem verification

   - 1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

   - 2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode and then the ON mode.

   - 3. Wait for at least 6 seconds.

   - 4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

   DTC Description	DTC
   U129C Gauge control module lost communication with FCW/LDW camera unit (FCW/LDW frame)

   Is DTC U129C indicated?

   YES 

   Go to step 2.

   NO 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.

2. FCW/LDW DTCs check

   - 1. Check for FCW /LDW camera unit DTCs with the HDS.

   Are any DTCs indicated?

   YES 

   Go to the indicated DTCs troubleshooting.

   NO 

   Go to step 3.

3. Open wire check (F-CAN lines)

   - 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

   - 2. Disconnect the following connector.

   Gauge control module connector A (32P) FCW/LDW camera unit 10P connector

   - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
   	Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected
   	FCW/LDW camera unit 10P connector: disconnected
   Test circuit	F-CAN_L
   Test point 1	Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 28 (BLK)
   Test point 2	FCW/LDW camera unit 10P connector No. 5 (BRN)

   Test circuit	F-CAN_H
   Test point 1	Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 27 (WHT)
   Test point 2	FCW/LDW camera unit 10P connector No. 6 (WHT)

   Is there continuity?

   YES 

   Substitute a known-good FCW/LDW camera unit , and recheck. If the indication goes away, replace the original FCW/LDW camera unit . If the DTC is still present, replace the gauge control module .

   NO 

   An open or poor connection in the F-CAN wires between the FCW/LDW camera unit and the gauge control module.
