Removing the Steering Gear Housing And Surrounding Components

Remove:
- the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) and the front exhaust pipe
- Left-hand drive cars: the threaded section of the exhaust manifold, right-hand side
- the rear engine mounting
- Manual transmissions: the spring clip from the cable for the odometer. Remove the cable
- Manual transmissions: the two rear screws, rear mounting
- automatic transmissions: the mounting beside the rear engine mounting, the three screws and remove the mounting.
Slide the engine forward so that it is positioned between the transmission and the cross member. Lock the engine in place.
Remove the screw, the two clips and the heat deflector plate from the steering gear housing.
