WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Volvo S40, 2003 Volvo S40, 2002 Volvo S40, 2001 Volvo S40, and 2000 Volvo S40. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
HINT: If there is a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) for the boost pressure sensor, fault tracing the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) for the boost pressure sensor should be handled first.
- Ignition off
Check the connector of the mass air flow sensor, boost pressure sensor, system relay and engine control module (ECM) for contact resistance and oxidation.
Check the induction system for air leaks.
HINT: The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be caused by a damaged boost pressure sensor 2 (MAP) or mass air flow sensor.
Remedy as necessary.
