Removing the steering wheel

Position the car with the wheels pointing straight ahead.
Undo the steering wheel center bolt.
Lock the steering wheel.
Remove the bolt which is in the plastic strip from the steering wheel and turn this to locking position (1) to secure the contact reel.
Mark the steering wheel and steering wheel shaft with a view to reinstalling them.
Remove the central nut and take the steering wheel off (wring/pull and lift it off).
Remove special tool 9988695 .

CAUTION: Do not turn the steering wheel when the contact reel is locked as the contact reel pin will break off.
