Replacing lock function: Removing

Make a note of the anti-theft radio code.

Remove:

Battery negative lead.
Gear selector knob according to Removing gear selector knob .
Center console according to Removing passenger compartment components .

Pull out pawl (1) with round-nosed pliers.

Remove push rod and spring (4). If necessary, use a thin, bent welding rod to lift up the spring.
