Installing the shift cable

Carefully guide the cable from the passenger compartment into the engine compartment.
NOTE:
An additional mechanic is required to receive and guide the cable and bracket through the engine compartment.
CAUTION:
Be careful not to damage the cable or its casing by sharp bends. Take care with the cable boot.
Install:
- the cable casing in the gear selector assembly by pressing it into place
- the cable to the shift lever with the shaft.
Fit the frame over the rubber grommet in the firewall (2 nuts). Torque: 25 Nm .
