Installing the tailgate assembly

Install the tailgate. Finger tighten the screws.
Lubricate the ball joints. Press the gas struts and retaining clip into place. Check that the gas strut is locked.
Use a piece of string to feed the cable harness in.
Connect the connectors for the tail lamp.
If necessary, install the components for the tailgate according to Tailgate components .
Carefully close the tailgate. Check the alignment.
Tighten the screws. Tighten to 21 Nm .
If necessary, adjust the tailgate according to Adjusting the tailgate .
