Checking the component
- Ignition off
- Disconnect the transmission connector
- Connect adapter 9511505 and breakout box 9511428 to the transmission connector (transmission side)
- Disconnect the transmission connector (control module side).
Check that the resistance between the transmission housing and connector terminal #U (#A18) is 0-50 Ω.

Was the resistance OK?
- YES

- Ignition off
- Connect adapter 9511505 and breakout box 9511428 to the transmission connector (transmission and control module side)
- Start the engine.
Check that the voltage between the transmission housing and connector terminal #U (#A18) is battery voltage.

Is the voltage OK?
- YES

- Engine idling
- Connect adapter 9511505 and breakout box 9511428 to the transmission connector (control module side)
- The transmission connector disconnected.NOTE:
Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) for the gear-shift position sensor and the solenoids may be stored in the transmission control module (TCM) when disconnecting the transmission connector. These do not need to be fault traced when this fault tracing is complete.
Check that the voltage between any ground terminal and terminal #A18 (#U) is battery voltage.
